Sue grew up on a ranch in the Black Hills of South Dakota. in 1969 she was selected as Miss South Dakota Teenager and was selected as one of 8 finalists in the Miss American Teenager Pageant. She attended South Dakota State University from 1969 - 1972 majoring in Art, and later attended Chadron State College in Nebraska. She represented the state of South Dakota in the 1971 Miss America Pageant where her 6'x8' oil painting of an eagle in flight was part of her original dramatic talent presentation. Sue has served on a number of community service board of directors and has volunteered her services and donated art for many charitable organizations.
She has been married to her husband Tom since 1972. They have 3 children and have 10 grandchildren.
Sue has always had a love, appreciation and respect for all living things. She works with pastels, colored pencils, acrylics and oils. Her favorite subjects are landscapes with dramatic skies and all forms of wildlife, especially those in her native South Dakota.
